CAS Associate VP Search

After six years on the faculty, and two years as Dean and then Associate Vice President for the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Connie Lightfoot is moving to Taylor University to assume the position of Dean of the School of Professional and Graduate Studies. Her tenure in the Academic Affairs office comes to an end Friday, June 20.

I have asked the outgoing and incoming Vice Presidents of CAS (Dr. Bud Bence and Dr. Dwight Jessup), and two Division Chairs (Dr. Mary Brown and Dr. Jim Elsberry) to assist me in the process of filling this position.

We have received a pool of excellent nominations and applications. Our committee will begin by reviewing the current configuration and duties of the position, and then we will review the submitted materials of the applicants and nominees. The configuration of the position may change as a new Vice President takes office, but we do expect that the person hired will remain in academic administrative leadership. When we have identified our preferred candidate we will ask the Division Chairs to interact with the candidate to give feedback before a final decision is made.

Our time frame is challenged by summer vacation and conference travel but we hope to complete this process and offer the position by mid-July.
